Maine Dental Health Out-Reach, which has provided oral care to thousands of schoolchildren, has received a $350,000 grant from the Next Generation Foundation of Maine.
The money will be used to replace a van, add a third dental chair, and expand services to pregnant women and children, according to a centralmaine.com story.
Operated by dental hygienist Suzanne LaVallee, RDH, the organization has provided 6,400 appointments to school-age children at more than 30 schools. Most of the students qualify for coverage under MaineCare, the state's Medicaid program.
