Alaska museum hosts kids' dental exhibit

The Juneau-Douglas City Museum is hosting a new dental exhibit for children, MouthPower, which opened on February 5, according to a news story in Capital City Weekly. The traveling exhibit comes to Juneau from the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry in Baltimore.

It educates children about their teeth through a series of interactive stations, including a child-sized dental office and a larger-than-life mouth on which children can practice brushing and flossing, according to the story.

"Although the exhibit is not on a Juneau history topic, it is an exhibit for Juneau children," museum director Jane Lindsey told Capital City Weekly. "Additionally, this exhibit offers parents and educators an indoor, fun interactive learning experience during our winter months for our children."
