The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) has hired a large public relations firm to raise awareness of the importance of pediatric dentistry.
MWW Group, which calls itself "one of the nation's top ten public relations firms," said it "will spearhead an integrated communications program for the AAPD to help raise public awareness of the pediatric dentistry profession, the importance of children's oral health to overall health, and reinforce the AAPD's leadership and expertise."
MWW Group will highlight the AAPD and Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children, the foundation of the AAPD. It will work to establish the AAPD as an advocate of oral health and health care for children through engaging parenting networks, developing strategic partnerships with health care organizations and a media relations program tied to the AAPD's partnership with Head Start, the Dental Home Initiative. Additionally, MWW Group will "work to engage key policy makers within the organization."
