U.S. oral health group elects new officers

The National Children's Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF) elected a new slate of officers and welcomed three new board members at its annual meeting on August 21, 2009.

The new officers are:

  • Chairman: Kevin Mosher, president, Nobel Biocare North America
  • First vice president: Scott Anderson, president, Patterson Dental Supply
  • Second vice president: Tom Engels, retired vice president and general manager, 3M ESPE
  • Treasurer: Christopher Clark, president and chief operating offficer, Dentsply
  • Secretary: P. Christopher Holden, president, Heraeus
  • President and CEO: Fern Ingber, president and CEO NCOHF

The three new board members elected for a three-year term are:

  • Leo Rouse, dean, Howard University College of Dentistry
  • Huw Francis Thomas, dean, University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry
  • James Vitkus, vice president and general manager, Advanstar Dental Media

Continuing board members are:

  • Gordon Christensen, founder and director of Clinical Research Associates
  • Dan Even, president, Sybron Dental Specialties
  • Richard Fischer
  • Karen Gledhill, Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson
  • Ronald Goldstein, founder, Goldstein, Garber & Salama
  • Joseph Greenberg, D.D.S.
  • Stephen Moss, Health Education Enterprises
  • David Porritt
  • Cherilyn Sheets, D.D.S.
  • John Williams, dean, University of North Carolina School of Dentistry

"NCOHF: America's Toothfairy has touched the lives of 1 million children by delivering $5 million in direct support to quality nonprofit children's clinical programs," President and CEO Fern Ingber said in a press release. "We could not have accomplished so much without the dedication and leadership of these highly regarded leaders working together to aggressively respond to the silent epidemic of pediatric oral disease."
