Pharmacy giants CVS Health and Walgreens are making moves into the dental health space.
CVS has launched a pilot partnership with Smile Direct Club to integrate the company's clear aligners into six store locations, according to CNBC. Smile Direct Club, a direct-to-consumer invisible aligner start-up, already sells its kits at CVS, Macy's, and other retailers. Through the new SmileShopExpress partnership, the public will be able to get 3D scans for Smile Direct Club aligners directly at select CVS stores.
Aspen Dental also announced a partnership with Walgreens to bring to dental care to two Walgreens stores in Florida. The first in-store dental clinic is in Palatka. A second clinic is scheduled to open in Tampa in the second quarter of 2019.
