A new association has launched that focuses on using teledentistry to increase access to care.
The goal of the American Teledentistry Association (ATDA) is to educate dental professionals and the public about the benefits of teledentistry. Marc Ackerman, DMD, MBA, is executive director of the association. Dr. Ackerman is the director of orthodontics at Boston Children's Hospital and an assistant professor of developmental biology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
The association has also issued its first position paper on doctor-directed at-home clear-aligner treatments.
