The best job in the U.S. in 2016 is being an orthodontist, according to U.S. News & World Report. Dentists, who led the list in 2015, came in second.
The number of jobs for orthodontists will grow by 18%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Healthcare professions, such as orthodontist, dentist, nurse anesthetist, and pediatrician, took nine of the first 10 spots on the 100 Best Jobs of 2016 list. Computer systems analyst was the only nonhealthcare position in the top 10.
The magazine ranked the 100 best jobs according to their ability to do the following:
- Pay well
- Offer a challenge
- Not be too stressful
- Offer room to advancement
- Provide a satisfying work-life balance
