The U.S. National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) and other agencies of the National Institutes of Health are seeking grant submissions for developing safe, effective, and nonaddictive therapeutics to treat pain.
The grant awards will support the building of research teams to collect initial data and recruit additional collaborators. The applications must include a plan for developing a strong research team, as well as a strategy for collecting preliminary data linking therapeutic targets to the proposed pain indication and supporting the hypothesis that altering target activity will produce the desired disease outcomes, according to the NIDCR.
The window for submissions opened June 19. To learn more, visit the National Institutes of Health's grants and funding page.
