Oral health and development firm TriAgenics hopes to bring its 3D-guided microwave third-molar tooth bud ablation treatment to market in 2024.
Zero3 is a surgery-free procedure, which has showed a 100% success rate at blocking wisdom tooth formation in animal trials. The treatment is designed for patients between the ages of 7 and 11. In May 2022, a study published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery showed that the procedure removed tooth buds in pigs in minutes.
Once the product is available, dentists will send patients’ x-rays and prescriptions for ablation treatment kits. TriAgenics will fabricate custom kits and send them to clinicians, according to the company.
Currently, efforts are being made to generate additional investment, obtain U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval, and bring the treatment to market as soon as possible. Previously, the company had raised $7.5 million through series A1 and A2 offerings and is now offering series A3 stock.
