I recently had the chance to visit a tremendous exhibit centered around Claude Monet at the Denver Art Museum. I have long been a fan of impressionist paintings, even though I do not have an artistic bone in my body.
Works of art by some of the masters are impressive to see in person. Imagine if you actually owned some of them and could see them every day.
Well, that was the story of one German dentist -- but it didn't exactly match up with local authorities. He will now reportedly stand trial after trying to present 20 fake Picasso paintings to several auction houses as authenticated works. He faces possible charges of unauthorized exploitation of copyrighted works and the use of fake certifications.
In other news, the recent outbreak of lung disease linked to vaping appears to be most prevalent in people who vaped THC-containing products obtained from informal sources, such as family, dealers, and online, according to a new report released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
