Week in Review: Avoiding 'Amphetamine Annie'; online marketing; and new products video

Dear DrBicuspid Member,

Your office may be prepared for malpractice claims, but what if a fired employee sues you for wrongful termination? What if a Facebook search reveals that a potential hire calls herself "Amphetamine Annie"? Attorney Arthur Curley discussed how to handle these and other employment situations in a presentation at the recent California Dental Association's CDA Presents 2016 conference in San Francisco. Read Features Editor Donna Domino's story here.

You hear a lot about how your practice should be marketing itself online. And you should. But as the Scheduling Institute's Jay Geier writes, you can have the greatest website in the world and it will mean little if your practice isn't ready when the phone rings. Read his column here.

This week, we also bring you two exclusive videos from CDA Presents 2016. In this video, Assistant Editor Theresa Pablos shares some of the most innovative products at the exhibit hall. In this video interview, Dr. Jon Suzuki talks about the relationship between periodontal disease and systemic health, as well as implant failure.

I hope you enjoyed the videos we brought you from CDA Presents 2016. I want to thank Katherine Soal, Dr. Peter Karsant, Dr. Parag Kachalia, and Dr. Jon Suzuki for their time. I also want to thank the manufacturers that allowed us to film their new products on the exhibit floor. We look forward to doing more of these videos at upcoming conferences.
