J.D. Power has released its 2016 Dental Plan Satisfaction Report, which ranked eight dental plan providers by customer satisfaction.
DentaQuest scored the highest, with 801 points out of a possible 1,000 in overall customer satisfaction. This is the first year that DentaQuest has topped the list, which J.D. Power first compiled in 2014.
Aetna Dental, UnitedHealthcare Dental, and MetLife Dental followed in the rankings, with Guardian Access Dental/Premier Access coming in last. J.D. Power calculates customer satisfaction based on five factors (in order of importance): coverage, cost, communications, customer service, and reimbursement.
Overall satisfaction among dental plan members also rose to 774, a new high, compared with 717 in 2015 and 723 in 2014. J.D. Power attributed the record high to a substantial increase in communication satisfaction.
