Ga. dentist sentenced to prison for $2M Medicaid fraud

A Georgia dentist has been sentenced to seven years in prison for fraudulently billing Georgia Medicaid more than $2 million.

Kenneth Morris Wiggins Jr., DDS, owner of Cosmetic and Family Dentistry with offices in Roswell and Marietta, billed Medicaid for tooth reimplantations and suturing of wounds for 220 Medicaid patients although he never performed the procedures, according to Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens.

Dr. Wiggins fled to the Netherlands after being indicted in 2011 and was found in Belize in February. He pleaded guilty to one felony count of Medicaid fraud. Dr. Wiggins was also ordered to pay $2.2 million in restitution.
