Health In Reach has merged with PriceDoc, a website enabling consumers who are uninsured, underinsured, or seeking elective procedures to view and reserve prices with qualified medical and dental care providers for cash or credit card payments.
The combined company will operate as Health In Reach. The site offers descriptions and prices for nearly 50,000 specific procedures and has 1.6 million appointments available online each month, the company stated in a press release.
In addition to scheduling appointments online, consumers can receive appointment reminders and lock-in fee discounts before they arrive at the doctor's office. After an appointment, users can leave reviews and other comments about their experiences.
PriceDoc has partnered with other net-based medical companies in the past. In 2010 it signed a joint venture agreement with Quality Systems, a developer and provider of computer-based practice management, patient records, and revenue cycle management products for physicians, dentists, and small hospitals.
In 2009 PriceDoc collaborated with FairCareMD to create a space where potential patients can bid on dental and medical services from competing practices.
