Humana launches preventive care insurance plan

Humana has launched the HumanaOne Dental Loyalty Plus Plan for people seeking coverage for preventive care and other services with the flexibility to choose the dentist they prefer.

The plan is geared for those without dental coverage -- retirees, the self-employed, or people who do not have dental coverage through their employer – and offers them increased coverage in the second and third years they are enrolled in the plan, up to maximum amounts, according to the company.

The plan offers the following:

• No co-payments and 100% coverage for most preventive services
• Increasing coverage over three years for basic services, such as restorations, extractions, and x-rays, up to 70%
• Increasing coverage over three years for major procedures, such as root canals, dentures, and crowns, up to 50%
• One-time deductible for the duration of the plan
• No waiting periods
