SulAmerica, the largest independent insurance carrier in Brazil, has signed an agreement to acquire Dental Plan, a major dental care provider in north and northeast Brazil, for 28.5 million reais ($16.8 million U.S.).
Through this acquisition, SulAmerica will increase its presence in the northern regions of the country, taking in a portfolio of more than 122,000 members and further strengthening its position in the dental care segment, which now totals more than 385,000 members.
The conclusion of the acquisition is subject to prior approval by the Agencia Nacional de Saude (Brazil's National Health Agency).
