DentalXChange recently hosted an event that brought together dental groups and selected payors to discuss needed improvements in operational efficiencies and quality of transaction services between them.
Attendees at the United Nations of Providers and Payers event, which took place August 27, included the Delta Dental Plans Association, Guardian Life and Health, United Healthcare, Cigna, Delta Dental of California, and Ameritas Group. They were joined by practice management vendor QSI and multiple group dental practices in the daylong summit.
The attendees discussed how payors and providers could work together to improve the efficiency of the billing process, guarantee a return on investment for the payor, and enhance utilization by the provider groups, according to DentalXChange.
As a result of the discussions, payors, including Guardian, United Healthcare, and Delta Dental of California, pledged to incorporate changes into their eligibility and benefit transactions, which would immediately increase the value of their electronic data interchange transactions.
