Sun Life, Humana partner on dental plans

Sun Life has entered into an agreement with Humana to offer a greater choice of dental plans to employer groups in select markets, the companies announced.

The marketing agreement allows employers to purchase Humana's dental HMO as the low-cost option on a dual select dental plan, with a Sun Life plan as the high-cost option. Plans will be available through Sun Life in Texas, Florida, and Illinois.

"We're excited to expand our dental plan offerings through this new relationship," Sue Schoch, vice president of dental products at Sun Life, said in a press release. "Adding DHMO to our Dual Select Plans allows us to offer customers another option when choosing a comprehensive dental plan for their employees."

Plan administration will be seamless to employers, with both plans administered through Sun Life's Plan Administrator Web portal. Employees will have access to Sun Life's or Humana's plan member sites for provider searches and online explanation of benefits.
