Capital BlueCross is acquiring Dominion Dental Services, a privately held corporation headquartered in Alexandria, VA.
Dominion offers dental benefit plans in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Washington, DC. This acquisition will add nearly 400,000 new members to Capital BlueCross members throughout Pennsylvania and the mid-Atlantic region, according to Capital BlueCross.
"Good dental care improves the health and wellness of individuals and fits perfectly with our strategy to coordinate care across all healthcare services," stated William Lehr Jr., president and CEO of Capital BlueCross, in a press release. "This acquisition is part of our long-term strategy to remain the region's leading insurer by delivering innovative solutions and world-class service to our members at affordable prices."
