The California Dental Association (CDA) is warning dentists about bogus notices asking for money to receive "current compliant State and Federal 2015 Employment Posters."
Two Los Angeles dentists contacted the CDA about the notice, which resembles an official government document, according to a CDA announcement.
The fake notice says "Labor Law Compliance Notice" at the top and is from a company called Compliance Document Services in Sacramento. The notice instructs dentists to send $84 to get "mandatory compliance state and federal posters."
Dentists who get the notice should contact the California Attorney General's Public Inquiry Unit and fill out a Consumer Complaint Against a Business/Company, the CDA advised.
The CDA is preparing to update the 2015-2016 set of required employment posters to be distributed in April. As a membership service, the components will distribute a free poster set designed for the dental office, with each component determining its own method of distribution. Dentists can have CDA mail the individual posters.
