A dentist in Louisville, KY, is facing a malpractice lawsuit filed by a patient who claims a botched procedure to install a "grill" caused him to lose four teeth.
Christopher Skillman claims that Judy Green, DMD, was negligent when she installed a grill on his four front bottom teeth, according to a story in the Courier-Journal.
After Skillman went to Dr. Green in February 2011, she allegedly filed down his teeth too low, causing the roots to die. The lawsuit claims that Skillman experienced pain, suffering, and cosmetic disfigurement and required "substantial dental and medical" follow-up visits with additional providers, including endodontic specialists, according to the story.
Dr. Green, a former Louisville councilwoman, was voted out of office in 2011 following ethics complaints.
