Ex-dental employee faces more than 35 felonies

A former dental office employee in Pennsylvania faces more than 35 felony charges for allegedly breaking into the dental practice where she worked and stealing more than $1,600, according to multiple stories published on December 5.

Ciara Stawarz, 33, of Harmony, PA, was charged on December 3 for reportedly stealing from Cranberry Dental Arts, where she was employed for about one year before abruptly leaving the job in September 2024.

On October 20, the practice owner notified police that two burglaries occurred on October 13 and 17. Surveillance videos from the practice reportedly showed Stawarz disguised in a black wig and surgical mask using keys to enter the office when it was closed for business, according to the stories.

In the videos, Stawarz can be seen removing money from an envelope that was inside a drawer in the practice's office. Additionally, the former employee is accused of using a computer before leaving the practice, according to the stories. A total of $1,643 was taken during the two burglaries, according to the news reports.
