Everything around us has changed, and dentistry must change with it. To be successful in today's new environment, dentists will need to improve their operations, management, and marketing systems. Team members also will need to be receptive when asked to work differently than in the past.

Do

Welcome change. As the business of dentistry continues to evolve after the pandemic, practices will look for ways to make improvements in both clinical and administrative areas. Rather than clinging to the way things were, take a positive approach to learning new skills and protocols. Your practice should provide training opportunities -- and you should take full advantage of them.

Don

Don't forget what you learned from the pandemic. Most practices had to make significant changes in response to COVID-19, such as trimming overhead, rooting out inefficiencies, and creating new strategies for bringing in and retaining more patients. As you adjust to the challenges of this new dental landscape, hold on to those new habits. You will grow faster.
