Henry Schein CEO calls for inclusion in COVID-19 fight

Henry Schein CEO Stanley Bergman has submitted a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, urging federal officials to include primary care physicians and other office-based practitioners, including dentists, in the effort to expand COVID-19 vaccination.

Bergman wrote that effectively activating the network of physicians and dentists in the U.S. to help with vaccination "is critical at this moment in the country's vaccination efforts."

The letter was submitted as a statement for the record in conjunction with the subcommittee's hearing featuring testimony from the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky; the chief science officer for COVID-19 response, Dr. David Kessler; and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, according to Henry Schein.
