On March 11, President Joe Biden signed a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill into law that extends unemployment benefits, provides $1,400 stimulus checks to middle- and lower-income individuals, and pays for billions in COVID-19 testing and vaccine distribution.
The law also makes all COVID-19 student loan relief tax-free, which the ADA had lobbied in favor of since it appeared that more relief was coming down the pike.
The president also announced on Thursday that he was widening the pool of clinicians eligible to give COVID-19 vaccines. Dentists, emergency medical technicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, respiratory therapists, veterinarians, and others will become qualified to administer vaccines.
