MMG Fusion has launched its patient portal, a software service that helps patients connect with dental practices before and after visits.
The software aims to improve patient satisfaction and retention by enabling patients to virtually manage their appointment scheduling, complete their medical and dental history, and make payments. New patients can also use the software to complete consent forms, and practices can opt to offer benefits, such as reimbursed Uber rides for patients.
In addition, the patient portal generates an oral health score for each patient based on whether he or she received or missed recommended treatments and annual cleanings. Gamifying the patient experience with the score can reduce unscheduled treatments by 25%, according to MMG Fusion.
The new patient software was designed and tested by dentists and dental teams at MMG Fusion's affiliated group practice in San Francisco. It is part of the company's MMG Manage suite of software to help market, manage, and grow dental practices. MMG Fusion also intends to use the patient portal to facilitate teledentistry phone or video appointments.
