Dentsply Sirona debuts intraoral scanner
Dentsply Sirona is launching its new Primescan intraoral scanner at the Chicago meeting.
The Primescan intraoral scanner has a patent-pending digital impressioning technology that enables high-precision digital impressions to be taken of the entire jaw. Tooth surfaces are scanned with high-resolution sensors and shortwave light, capturing up to 1 million 3D data points per second. Virtually all tooth surfaces can be captured by the scanner, including areas up to 20-mm deep.
The scanner also is designed to interact with various digital workflows, including those of dental laboratories, CEREC, and other companies, according to Dentsply Sirona.

Coding community gets new name, launches online portal
A popular dental coding community will unveil its new branding and launch an online portal for mastering insurance coding.
The Dental Codeologist Community will become the DentalCodeology Insiders. The insiders program includes monthly webinars, newsletters, an active online community, and meetings during major dental and hygiene conferences.
The new DentalCodeology Insurance Navigator Method will be an Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Program Approval for Continuing Education (PACE)-certified online portal for dental professionals dedicated to mastering accurate insurance coding. The information will include white papers, webinars, videos, and blogs, according to DentalCodeology.

Henry Schein One launches practice marketing package
Henry Schein One is launching a comprehensive practice marketing package.
The package, Practice Marketing from Henry Schein One, combines multiple marketing solutions and is integrated with the Dentrix practice management software.
The program includes website and online marketing, patient engagement, and online reputation tools. The new package can help practices diversify their marketing approach and broadcast a more powerful practice message, according to Henry Schein One.

Lighthouse debuts paperless registration program
Lighthouse is introducing a paperless registration program as part of its Lighthouse 360 patient communication system.
Patient FastTrack allows patients to register from their smartphone. The program offers patients the opportunity to provide intake information and electronically sign agreements in advance of their scheduled appointment, reducing waiting room time and eliminating manual effort, according to Lighthouse.
The program also has new features that practices can customize according to their needs, the company noted.

Restoratives
Microcopy features new carbide bur
Microcopy is featuring its new NeoBurr 3302 carbide bur in Chicago.
The NeoBurr 3302 has the same features as the company's NeoBurr 330 but with a blended neck for increased durability. This means that the section of the bur between the cutting head and the shank is blended, with no reduction in neck width.
The new design also removes the weld joint, which increases its strength of the bur and removes any weak points in the neck that might cause breakage, according to Microcopy.
