CDA reminds Calif. dentists to pay imaging machine fees

The California Dental Association (CDA) has issued a reminder to California dentists to ensure that their imaging machine registration fees are up-to-date.

In California, x-ray machines must be registered with the California Department of Public Health's Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) within 30 days of purchase, according to the association. The RHB typically bills biennially for the registration fees, but the CDA reported receiving calls from member dentists who had received past-due bills for these registration fees.

In addition, imaging machine registration fees were increased in September 2017, the CDA noted. A list of the updated fees is available on the department of public health's website.
