Image display firm Barco has introduced a line of displays for dental offices in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
Updated standards for medical displays, including dentistry, in Germany define room categories for monitors on the basis of their intended use. These room categories (ranging from 1 to 6) set the maximum ambient light levels and minimum light output of displays in relation to the work done in the room.
In response to these standards, the company developed a range of displays and monitors for review (the Eonis line) and diagnosis (the Nio line). All Barco displays used in the dental office can be automatically calibrated to comply with the regulations as defined by the display standards.
Also, the new line has invisible cables, white housing, and modern design, and the displays can be disinfected with alcohol-based dental cleaning products. The diagnostic counterpart is available with a protective front cover.
The new range of displays is commercially available only in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
