Canadian dentist faces multiple lawsuits

A dentist in British Columbia is facing 12 lawsuits filed by former patients claiming harm and unnecessary pain.

Dr. Steven Krieger of Surrey also has voluntarily withdrawn his registration as a dentist and will have a public hearing before the disciplinary committee of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, according to a report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

In statements of defense in the lawsuits, Dr. Krieger denied the allegations and said he treated patients with "reasonable care, skill, and diligence," according to the CBC.

No date has been set for the disciplinary committee hearing at press time.
