NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly has had a recurrence of oral cancer. The former Buffalo Bills quarterback had undergone surgery for squamous cell carcinoma in his upper jaw bone last year.
The recurrence was found while Kelly was in the hospital for a follow-up appointment, according to a wivb.com story.
Kelly will be treated by head and neck cancer specialists at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
Kelly's original bout of cancer was discovered after he told his dentist that his jaw hurt. Part of his jaw and some of his teeth were removed in a 2013 operation.
