New oral cancer test uses saliva; iPad makes DEXIS 'immersive'

As more dentists screen for oral cancer as a routine part of patient exams, a variety of adjunctive technologies have entered the market, from fluorescence-based devices to brush biopsies.

Now a Pennsylvania start-up, PeriRx, is developing a unique molecular saliva test that analyzes certain biomarkers to specifically detect oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and diabetes.
