Salivary diagnostics firm Access Genetics, operating as OralDNA Labs, has acquired the assets of Sensible Diagnostics. The deal's financial terms were not disclosed.
With this acquisition, OralDNA intends to commercialize a new standard in point-of-care molecular diagnostics to deliver quality test results from saliva or swabs in 10 minutes or less.
The system uses a four-channel setup with microfluidic test cartridges, focusing initially on diagnosing periodontal disease. The platform is still under development and has not yet received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance.
