Henry Schein has purchased five businesses operating in three European countries from Dutch dental equipment distributor Arseus.
The deal includes a French dental practice management software company and four distributors serving dentists and dental laboratories in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium, which have total annual sales of about $97 million (70 million euros), according to Henry Schein.
The company did not disclose financial terms of the transaction.
The businesses include following:
- The Logiciel Julie dental practice management software company in Croissy-Beaubourg (Marne-la-Vallee), France, which has more than 8,000 installed systems and annual sales of approximately $7.9 million (5.7 million euros).
- Arcade Dentaire, which distributes dental equipment and IT products with headquarters in Rennes, France. Arcade serves practitioners in western France and distributes Sirona products. The company has annual sales of approximately $11 million (8 million euros).
- Arseus Dental Solutions, which distributes dental equipment and IT products to dental practices and universities in the Netherlands. The company has headquarters in Waalwijk, the Netherlands, and annual sales of approximately $14.1 million (10.2 million euros).
- Arseus Dental Solutions, which distributes dental equipment and IT products to dental practices and universities in Belgium. The company's headquarters are in Waregem, Belgium, and has annual sales of approximately $10.9 million (7.9 million euros).
- Arseus Lab, which distributes specialist products to dental laboratories in Benelux and France. The company has headquarters in Waregem, Belgium, and sells products that include teeth, precious metals, alloys, supplies, and equipment. Arseus offers CAD/CAM products and the Ceka Preci-Line, its private-label brand of attachments. Arseus has annual sales of approximately $52.7 million (38.2 million euros).
Henry Schein expects the dental and dental laboratory distribution transactions to close within the next 90 days. The Logiciel Julie transaction has been completed.
