Discus Dental and Zap Lasers have entered into a strategic partnership whereby Discus Dental will have the exclusive right to market, sell, and distribute Zap Lasers' products in the global professional dental market, the companies announced.
Discus Dental will take over distribution, sales, and marketing rights for Zap products worldwide, with the exception of two existing and retained Pacific Rim distribution channels. Initially, distribution will begin in the U.S., but Discus said it will also work to gain regulatory approval to distribute the products in its international direct operations in Canada, Europe, and Australia, as well as through the global channel of more than 100 dealers.
In the U.S., Discus will offer the Styla and StylaOrtho for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $8,995 -- 20% less than its existing MSRP of $11,400, the company noted. The SoftLase Pro, OrthoLase, and HygieneLase will be offered at $4,995, almost 30% less than the current Zap Laser MSRP. The SoftLase Pro line of lasers will come with standard proficiency training and a three-year warranty.
Discus will also contract with Zap Lasers to provide technical support and customer care, and will offer customers expanded training and support via webinars, workshops, and in-office training.
