Colgate-Palmolive introduced its new Plaqless Pro smart electric toothbrush at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Plaqless Pro leverages optic-sensor technology to detect biofilm buildup in the mouth during brushing. A light ring around the toothbrush turns blue when it detects biofilm buildup and then becomes white when all the biofilm has been removed.
Plaqless Pro also pairs with Colgate's Connect app via Bluetooth technology. Sensors embedded in the toothbrush can display which teeth were properly cleaned by creating a map of the user's mouth through the app. The app also provides personalized brushing feedback and coaching. Colgate's Plaqless Pro toothbrush is slated for release in 2020.
