Prisyna, the oral care division of biotech firm Synedgen, has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance to market its Moisyn product line for treating xerostomia.
Moisyn is a rinse that treats dry mouth and supports the health of the oral cavity. The rinse combines natural materials and polysaccharides (carbohydrates whose molecules consist of bonded sugar molecules) to reduce pain and increase comfort in patients with dry mouth, according to Prisyna.
