Sirona launches revised inLab software

Sirona Dental has launched its revised inLab Software 15.

Available in late October 2015, the new software allows dental technicians to process files from any digital impression service and features new application modules, such as implantology and removable frameworks, according to the company.

Designed as open software, it can import files from any digital impression unit once the lab has received them, which may require third-party portals. It also accepts any stereolithography (STL) cases and can export to any mill and fabrication device or service provider.

As part of its new implantology capabilities, the software now enables the design and milling of implant surgical guides and implant bridges with or without soft tissue, the company noted.

In addition, the software includes a jaw-oriented biogeneric reconstruction feature that uses the entire occlusal surface of the jaw and the patient's individual occlusal curves as references for its initial proposal. Sirona Connect also has been updated and now features a new chat window that allow labs and doctors to discuss cases. Users can send screenshots or files through the chat window, allowing labs to provide design services for Cerec doctors.
