United Concordia offers new insurance plans

United Concordia Dental is now offering a new, low-cost dental insurance product called Smile for Health -- Basics plans and has expanded the availability of two of its dental plans.

The new product includes two plans with customizable deductibles and maximums to meet employer needs. Both plans cover preventive, restorative, and major dental services and also offer additional optional coverage, including vision and orthodontics.

The Smile for Health -- Basics plans are available in 21 states, including California, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Texas. They also come with Smile for Health – Wellness, which provides enhanced dental benefits for people with periodontal disease and certain chronic conditions.

"As a dental solutions company focused on wellness, we offer innovative and cost-effective benefit plan options for employers and members," stated James Bramson, DDS, chief dental officer of United Concordia, in a press release. "Our new and existing products are backed by a strong national network of dentists that continue to grow, delivering greater access to high-quality care."

United Concordia has also expanded the availability of its Healthy Stages preferred provider organization (PPO) plan to Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC. Healthy Stages covers cleanings, exams, and x-rays at 100%, as well as certain procedures such as sealants, crowns, and denture adjustments performed at a particular age.

The company's Smile for Health -- Value Plans Portfolio, bundled with vision benefits or discounts, is now available in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. The plans cover all oral evaluations, exams, and x-rays at 100%.
