Avalon Biomed, a developer of bioactive products for dentistry, launched launched NeoMTA Plus, a stain-proof mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) material with multiple indications for vital pulp therapy and other endodontic procedures.
NeoMTA Plus is a tricalcium silicate-based bioactive cement for vital pulp and other endodontic indications in primary and permanent teeth. It is noncytotoxic and inhibits bacterial growth of common bacteria.
Unlike other cements, NeoMTA Plus won't discolor primary teeth. Even common liquids applied before application, such as sodium hypochlorite solution, will not cause staining, according to the company.
The product's bioceramic formula triggers the healing process with the precipitation of hydroxyapatite in vivo.
Two sizes are offered in the U.S. and Canada: 2.5- and 7-gram kits. Outside of North America, 1-, 2-, and 6-gram kits are available.
