Dear DrBicuspid Member,

A recent article from Kim McCleskey caught your attention, so I wanted to bring McCleskey back into the DrBicuspid.com fold this week to dive deeper into her thoughts.

McCleskey recently wrote about how the dental industry's consolidation wave will impact dental practices. Among McCleskey's points was that niche practices have additional elements to consider versus general practices when the time comes to sell.

Niche practices are, in McCleskey's words, "general dentists who have found sort of a niche in what excites them, what they love. And a lot of times, they're very complex. Sometimes they're biomimetic; or they're sleep-focused, TMD, TMJ, airway practices; or they're a biological practice. They tend to be higher-producing in revenue. They tend to be solo, so they don't have associates."

With that in mind, I sat down with McCleskey for a deeper dive into that topic, what it means for niche practices, and whether niche practices are good for the owner in the present but more troublesome down the line. Our interview, which lasts just over eight minutes, can be found below.
