Smile Generation completed a two-month fundraising campaign in support of the Pacific Dental Services Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to improve oral health through service opportunities.
The organizations raised more than $573,000 to help improve access to dental care for patients with disabilities, including providing specialized training for clinicians.
The fundraising campaign consisted of two parts: a 60-day Smile for Special Needs campaign and a Stroll for Special Needs 5K. During the Smile for Special Needs campaign, patients at Smile Generation practices who donated to the campaign received discounts on their dental services. More than 8,000 donors contributed more than $370,000.
The Stroll for Special Needs 5K brought supporters together to run, walk, or roll to raise money. More than 1,000 participants in 27 states raised more than $203,000.
