Premier Dental Holdings, the parent company of Western Dental, has agreed to acquire the dental service organization (DSO) operations of the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. The DSO includes 63 practices located in Alabama, California, and Texas.
The acquisition will consist of 36 supported offices in Texas currently branded as South Texas Dental, 13 in Northern and Central California currently branded as Access Dental, eight in Northern and Southern California currently branded as Blue Hills Dental, and six in Alabama currently branded as Vital Smiles.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2018, according to Western Dental. Financial terms were not disclosed.
When the transaction closes, Western Dental and its affiliated Brident Dental & Orthodontics clinics will operate more than 310 oral health clinics in California, Alabama, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.
