3D printing company Formlabs has launched the Dental LT Comfort resin and the BioMed Durable resin for the Form 3B, Form 3B+, and Form 3BL printers.
The Dental LT Comfort resin is a flexible material for long-term occlusal splints, nightguards, and bleaching trays. It allows dentists to complete a splint in-house within two to three hours and at a cost of $5 to $7. An outsourced splint can take up to seven days and cost $100 to $200, according to Formlabs.
The BioMed Durable resin is a biocompatible and impact-resistant material used for dental devices and instruments. The resin is made to withstand impact, rough handling, and pressure. It can be used in applications for long-term skin and short-term tissue, bone, and dentin contact.
Both resins are available now. However, Dental LT Comfort resin is only available in the U.S.
