Sirona Dental Systems has launched inLab 4.0, a major software upgrade designed to enable the system to handle everything from single-unit crowns to complete smile makeovers.
According to the company, InLab 4.0 features a number of enhancements, including the following:
An intuitive graphical interface that guides users through the design process, displaying what step they are working on, what's next, and what has been completed. It also enables users to backtrack or jump forward without undoing progress.
Users can work on as many different restorations and indications as they want and at the same time -- including in multiple quadrants and opposing arches, from single units to full-mouth cases.
Design tools can now be executed directly on the tooth when performing functions, such as adding or removing material, rotating or positioning the restoration, or expanding or reducing tooth size.
The software also directly connects dental offices and labs, enabling the dentist and the lab to discuss the case while the patient is still in the chair.
